The daughter of a teen mother grew up determined not to repeat her mom’s mistakes.
At the age of 23, her life is on track. Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) is studying to be a teacher and engaged to the handsome detective Michael Cordero Jr. (Brett Dier) who supports her decision to remain a virgin until marriage.
When a visit to the clinic turns her life upside down. Inseminated by a specimen meant for a patient in the next room, now-pregnant Jane is in a situation made only crazier when she learns that the sperm donor is her boss, Rafael (Justin Baldoni). And that she was inseminated by Rafael’s older sister Dr. Luisa Alver (Yara Martinez).
As she meticulously planned life gets more like the telenovelas she loves, she faces a lot of complicated decisions about where to go from here. In the mess of the unborn baby, she has problems with her groom and her boss. Michael doses not what Jane to have the baby but Rafael might not have another chance to have children. When Jane and Rafael start talking they start to fall in love. Micheal and Petra Solano (Yael Grobglas) do not like that Rafael and Jane start dating. Xiomara Villanueva (Andrea Navedo) and Alba Villanueva (Ivonne Coll) want what’s best for Jane.
Jane grows up without knowing who owe father was. Xiomara Janes mother knew who the was but she did not what to tell Jane. But then the father showed up at the doorstep and Xiomara was going to have to tell Jane that the telenovela star Rogelio De La Vega (Jaime Camil). Jane’s life is now a mess but she finds a way to make it all better.
I do recommend Jane the virgin to people. Because the Villanueva family talks perfect Spanish you will also get a understanding of how Spanish phrases I’ll built
